About me & the trip
Sometime a few months I was given the chance to do something a little different. Something I’d wanted to do for a very long time.
So now I’m taking the plunge, scaring myself witless, and taking a plane to Quito in Ecuador. I’m going to be staying here www.rideandes.com and be helping out Sally Vergette and some happy tourists taking horse riding holidays in South America.
I’ll be back in about 6 months… hopefully with slightly better Spanish, perhaps a little slimmer and fitter from horse riding day in, day out, and with a bunch memories and stories I can remember when I’m an old lady.

UPDATE – August 2007
Well – how things change. Sorry it’s taken me so long to update this.
Everything I set out to do in June 2006 was done, exceeded, and then some. I may even have changed as a person, some things in my life are just more important now and other things… stress, work, career have slipped down the list a little. It was actually harder to adjust to coming back than going out there.
The plan this time (you’d expect nothing less, right?) is 6 months in Ecuador and then onto Argentina to a new place, Estancia Los Potreros and the Begg’s family where I’ll be a horse riding guide in mountains of a slightly lower altitude! This is the job description at the Beggs.
